Obituary For Marley Douglas Sheets
A celebration of Life Service for Marley Sheets, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery. Memorials and sympathy notes for the family may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home, Perry, IA. Online condolences may be left at murdockfuneralhome.net Marley Douglas Sheets (64), of Newton, IA, son of Harold and Violet (Masengill) Sheets was born on July 12, 1955 in Des Moines, IA. Marley passed from this life on June 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Marley graduated from Perry High School in 1974 and attended DMACC, earning his Associates Degree in Tool and Die Making. He later married Annette (Lowe) Sheets at the First United Methodist Church in Perry on December 5, 1981. Throughout their life, they lived in Dallas Center and Newton with their two daughters Madison and Allison. Marley was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering on cars. He loved listening to albums on his record player and jamming on his guitars. Some of his favorite moments included: walks with the dog and his wife, along with family vacations, especially those to Women Lake, MN during the summers. Marley was a member of the Izaak Walton League, former board member of the Newton High School booster club, and UAW. Marley is survived by his wife, Annette Sheets, of Newton, his two daughters Madison Sheets of Oklahoma City, OK, and Allison Sheets of Seattle, WA, father Harold Sheets of Perry, sisters Veronica LaBar of Perry and Janelle Davis of Des Moines, his mother-in-law Janet Lowe of Perry, brother-in-law Tom and sister-in-law Biddy Lowe of Waukee, his dedicated yellow lab Blu, his two cats Mitzy and Puss Puss, and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in Law, Richard Lowe, mother, Violet Sheets, great-nephew, Dakota Hoffman, and many loving friends and extended family members.

My condolences to Marley's family. The first time I ever listened to Hart to Hart was at his house. Never since have I listen to music so loud. Thank you Marley for the memories.

Heartfelt sympathy to all of you in the passing of Marley. Worked with him at Maytag, what a good time. He kept everyone laughing and was just plain fun to be around. One of his best stories was when he bought groceries at Hy-Vee one morning and put them in the wrong car. Didn't realize it until the key wouldn't fit, so he just got out and went home without his stuff. That was one of many stories. He will be greatly missed and remembered. Prayers for all of you.

My thoughts and prayers to Marley's family. I worked with him at Maytag and John Deere and he was a great toolmaker and a fun person to work with. He will be missed.

I was lucky enough to work with Marley at Emco Industries and Maytag. He was a good natured prankster and always willing to lend a hand.

Everyone that had the pleasure of working with and knowing Marley are very lucky to have done so. Marley was one of the most generous and friendly people that I have ever known. Our deepest sympathy to his family and friends. God bless.
